General Information
Columbus United is CLRA's Division II competitive soccer club.  The primary goal of Division II soccer is player development and challenging the player to become better. This is pursued through enhanced skills training, challenging conditioning, and wider competition.  Every player registered for CLRA and Caledonia recreational leagues is eligible for United. Players may register online at clra.net or in person at the CLRA office at Propst Park.

Competition
United is a competitive soccer club. Typically teams will play 25-30 matches in a combination of intra-city competition and tournaments. Matches are played against teams from Starkville, Saltillo, Oxford, Greenville, and many other cities. Teams participate in three tournaments as well as the President's Cup (the state championship.) See calendar for details.  Columbus also hosts Spring Friends and Family Day, a series of matches over two days.  Individual teams can choose to compete in additional tournaments at their own expense as long as it does not conflict with arranged match play.

Other Activities
United offers players and their families a wide range of activities for player development and fun. Fundraising helps provide resources for players to attend summer camps and coaches to gain further expertise and license. An end of the year banquent, attendance at NCAA matches, cookouts, and raffles are just part of being a part of Columbus United.

Coaches and Practice
Every coach is certified, and coaches are encouraged to continue training and gain additional license. In the spring, Tuesday night is set aside for Division II practice. Coaches can have additional practices and training sessions.  Coaches are responsible for picking assistants, determining rosters and playing time, and keeping players and their families fully informed of schedules, expectations, and team rules.

Equipment
A complete match kit (jersey, shorts, and matching socks) is provided
.  Players must provide shin guards and cleats.  Teams will decide if a team bag is purchased for competitions.
