LANGUAGE LEARNING AND OBSERVATION CONSENT FORM
As part of the EN 342 -- Second Language Acquisition -- class at the Mississippi University for Women, students are expected to have a minimum of ten contact hours with at least one person whose first language is not English and who has either learned English as a second language or is in the process of learning English as a second language. The MUW student can fulfill these hours by observing, tutoring, or interviewing one student or a whole class of students who may range from elementary school children to adults and who may be beginning learners to advanced speakers. The MUW student, through observation, will then write up a two-page assessment concerning first and second language acquisition theories that have been discussed in class. MUW students will be instructed not to use real names in their assessments and will be directed to focus observations purely on learning and acquisition theories.
I have read the previous statement and am willing to participate in being observed, tutored, or interviewed.
